India picked up four more medals — one gold, two silver and a bronze — from the team championship on the final day of the first Asian Grand Prix archery tournament at Bangkok on Sunday. India ended the season-opening championship on top of the medals tally with a haul of four gold, five silver and two bronze medals.
The men's compound team of Rajat Chauhan, Ch. Jignas and Ritul Chatterjee provided the day's silver-lining, winning the gold defeating Hong Kong by 224-211 points. The recurve teams, however, failed in the summit clash settling for silver medals.
The women's team, comprising L. Bombayla Devi, Chekrovolu Swuro and Deepika Kumar, the three who will be representing India at the London Olympics, came second best to China at 211-213. Earlier in the semifinals, India defeated Japan 217-213.
The day's lone bronze medal came through women's compound side (Jhano Hansdah, Manjudha Soy and Gagandeep Kaur) which defeated Hong Kong 227-215 in the play-off. India lost to Thailand, the gold winner, 217-221 in the semifinals.
