India ‘B’, comprising veteran Gagan Verma and Udayan Mane, won the international team title at the 112th Tata Steel amateur golf championship of India at the RCGC here on Wednesday.

The pair returned a total of 310 in the 36-hole strokeplay event to win by five shots.

India ‘C’, consisting of Samrath Dwivedi and Syed Saqib Ahmed, totalled 315 to emerge runner-up, while India ‘A’, represented by Simarjeet Singh and Karan Taunk, was third with 317.

Ankur Chadha won the individual title with a two-day total of 147. Arjun Singh was second, a stroke adrift.

The top 32 players from the strokeplay event will now vie for the amateur title.

Among those who have qualified are Abul Tam (Malaysia), Vijitha Bandara (Sri Lanka), Tshendra Dorji (Bhutan) and Mohammad Sagor (Bangladesh). Three-time Sri Lankan Open amateur champion Simarjeet Singh was one of the notable casualties.
