The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has said that no representative of the suspended Indian Boxing Federation (IBF) can participate in the forthcoming Indian Olympic Association (IOA) elections.

It has clarified that this is also applicable for any other National federation, which stands suspended by its respective international apex body.

AIBA objection In view of an objection raised by the International Boxing Association (AIBA) on Thursday, IOC’s National Olympic Committee (NOC) relations director Pere Miro has informed that none from the IBF would be able to take part in the IOA elections to be held on February 9.

In a letter to the IOC, AIBA executive director Ho Kim has said that since the Indian federation had been suspended by the AIBA “no representative of the IBF should participate in the IOA elections and vote on behalf of the sport of boxing in India.”
