Chandigarh’s Harendra Gupta holds a two-stroke lead after two rounds in the CG Open at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club here on Thursday.

Gupta was placed at a nine-under 131 after he carded a four-under-66 on the second day of the Open. Faridabad’s Abhinav Lohan and Delhi’s Shamim Khan are behind Gupta with a seven-under-133.

Sixty professionals and one amateur made the cut set at 143.

“My effort in the first two rounds has given me a great launch-pad for the final two rounds. I was struggling with the short putts on the first-nine today, but managed to turn it around on the second-nine where I holed a lot of putts,” said Gupta.

Delhi’s Vinod Kumar and Rashid Khan are in tied fourth position with a score of six-under-134 and Kolkata’s S.S.P Chowrasia and the Jamshedpur -based amateur Karan Taunk share the sixth place at five-under-135.
