Govarthan of Karnataka got the better of Arvind Kumar Prasad of West Bengal with a 9-2 verdict on points in the quarterfinals of the bantam weight category of the Youth men's National boxing championship held in Kakinada on Friday.

In another quarterfinal bout, Ajay Kumar of Haryana put it across a fighting Yogesh Tokas of Delhi for a 4-1 victory on points.
