Ekta Yadav and Shaila Charls stamp their authority

The pair of K.C. Ganapathy and Varun Thakkar has been unstoppable in the 49er class at the selection trials for the Asian Games here on Friday. The duo representing Tamil Nadu Sailing Association has won all the six races so far, including all three on Friday.

The feat is all the more appreciable considering that the duo hasn’t trained for the last seven months due to a shoulder injury incurred by Ganapathy in September last. The pair has also had to face tough competition from Army Yachting Node and Indian Naval Watermanship Training Centre, Mumbai (INWTC).

In the women’s 49er FX, the Ekta Yadav and Shaila Charls combine of National Sailing School (Bhopal) stamped its authority, by winning the three races to maintain a good lead over its opponents.
