Gagan Narang was not at his best in the final and thus had to be content finishing sixth in men's air rifle in the shooting World Cup in Belgrade, Serbia, on Monday.
Narang shot 101.1 in the final, for a total of 698.1, that placed him 2.3 points away from the bronze medal.
World and Olympic champion, Abhinav Bindra kept a low profile and finished 24th with a total of 594.
It was a creditable fare from Bindra, after he had registered 96 on the first card.
He came up with rounds of 99, 100, 100, 99 and 100 that saw him eventually miss the final by two points.
P.T. Raghunath was also on 594 and had to settle for the 27th place from among 92.
