Floodlit golf course by WIGA in Mumbai

The Western India Golf Association announced the setting up of a floodlit golf facility at Priyadarshini Sports Complex, Nepean Sea Road (Mumbai), including nets for full-swing practice and a practice green with approach area for putting, chipping, pitching and bunker practice. According to a WIGA press release, membership is open to everyone and free for NGOs dedicated to underprivileged children.

Golf lessons will be offered by Kiran Kanwar, a teaching professional worldwide with four Class A credentials of leading golf teaching associations (LPGA (USA), PGA (UK), National Golf Academy of India and Professional Golf Association of India). A former champion at the Ladies All India Open Amateur Golf Championship, she teaches all skill-levels of golfers in India and the USA.

WIGA organises monthly and annual competition for juniors and annual seniors competition, apart from promoting golf in western India, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Goa. Suresh

Sundaram is the WIGA president, earlier involved with Indian Golf Union, South India Addicts Society and was Captain of Cosmopolitan Golf Course, Chennai.
