Five Indians in finals

Five Indian boxers advanced to the finals of the Asian youth championships in Teheran. In the 48kg division, Devendro Singh Laishram blanked the Philippines' Engelbert Moralye 5-0.

Other winners on Tuesday were Vikash Krishan (60kg), who out-punched Fei Heng ( China) 9-0 and Sumit Sangwan, who defeated Sakkarih Choojit (Thailand) in the 75kg category. In the 81kg category, Navin Kumar beat Begaliev Sardorbek (Uzbekistan), while in the 57kg division, Venkat Giddi Nagarjun beat Hursltan Pazylov of Kyrgyzstan 8-1.

Srinivas Surbetti (51kg) lost 0-3 to Jinyong Jiang of China, while Harpal Singh (64kg) was beaten 1-10 by Meirim Hursultanov of Kazakhstan.

Manoj Kumar (91kg) suffered a head injury against Askar Kupensheyev of Kazakhstan forcing the referee to stop the contest. In the above-91kg category, Rajat lost 3-13 to Farhad of Iran.
