FIBA Asia Cup: India jolts China in China

July 14, 2014 04:05 am | Updated 04:05 am IST - KOCHI:

India made basketball history jolting Asian giant China 65-58 in a Group A league game of the fifth FIBA Asia Cup at Wuhan on Sunday.

It was India’s first-ever win over China, the world No.12, which had beaten defending champion Iran on Saturday.

The host China began well but it was India, the world No. 61, all the way after that, dominating with an all-round attack. Pratham Singh and Amjyot Singh led the scoring for India with 13 points each while Vishesh Bhriguvanshi added 10 points.

India, which lost to Japan 52-75 on Saturday, plays Indonesia on Monday.
