Erring shooters disciplined

The Athletes Commission in shooting, with Anjali Bhagwat as chairperson, found the ‘sexual harassment’ complaint by a female shotgun shooter ‘frivolous’ but recommended strong disciplinary measures against the boys involved.The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) president Raninder Singh said the main accused was being suspended from national and international competitions for one year and his accomplice for six months or until the next Nationals, whichever was earlier.

The other shooters involved in the fracas during the International shooting championship in Suhl, Germany, were let off with a warning.

The complainant was also asked “to improve her conduct”.
