Enamul wins on tie-break

Enamul Hossain of Bangladesh was forced to share a point with Indian IM G.A. Stany in the 11 and final round of the Vizag GM international open chess tournament but his better Buchholz tie-break score helped him clinch the first place and the Rs. 2 lakh prize money.

Indian GM B. Adhiban beat IM Swayams Mishra and Armenian GM Petrosian Davit defeated GM Martyn Kravtsiv of Ukraine to tie with Hossain on eight points each.

Hossain pipped Adhiban 73.5 to 73 in the Buchholz tie-break and the Armenian GM with 68 tie-break score took third place. Adhiban received Rs. 1.30 lakh and Petrosian Rs. 75,000.

MD of CMR group M. Venkata Ramana gave away the prizes and trophies.
