Double for Arunesh, Harshath

H. Arunesh (Salem) and P.T. Harshath (Coimbatore) clinched two titles each in the boys’ section of the Tamil Nadu State sub-junior badminton championship, organised by the Coimbatore District Badminton Association, at the Jenneys Residency courts here on Wednesday.

Arunesh defeated S. Koushik 24-22, 21-13 for the under-13 singles title. He later paired with S. Mithran (Krishnagiri) to beat the Erode combination of T. Siddartha and V.V. Sanjeth 21-6, 21-17 for the doubles title.

Harshath did likewise in the under-15 section. He dispatched B. Adithyan 21-16, 21-12 for the singles title.

However, Adithyan had something to cheer as he partnered Harshath to defeat Manassah and S. Lakshmanan 21-15, 21-17 for the doubles crown.

The results (final): Singles: Boys: U-13: H. Arunesh (Salem) bt S. Koushik (Coimbatore) 24-22, 21-13. U-15: P.T. Harshath (Coimbatore) bt B. Adithyan (Coimbatore) 21-16, 21-12.

Girls: U-13: Lakshmi Priyanka (Tirunelveli) bt S. Winnona (Coimbatore) 21-16, 21-12. U-15: M. Supraja (Madurai) bt K. Deeptha (Coimbatore) 13-21, 21-16, 21-14.

Doubles: Boys: U-13: H. Arunesh (Salem) / S. Mithran (Krishnagiri) bt T. Siddarth / V.V. Sanjeth (Erode) 21-6, 21-17. U-15: P.T. Harshath / B. Adithyan (Coimbatore) bt Manassah (Coimbatore) / S. Lakshmanan (Virudhunagar) 21-15, 21-17.

Girls: U-13: M. Nivetha / S. Winnona (Coimbatore) bt A. Dikshitha / S. Samyuktha (Coimbatore) 21-11, 21-16. U-15: Deeptha / Thanushree (Chn) bt Shamitha Devi (Virudhunagar) / Supraja (Madurai) 21-14, 6-21, 21-17.
