Double for Arjun

N. Arjun Singh bagged a double winning the boys’ 40m and the 30m Indian round categories on the first day of the 35th junior National archery championship for boys’ and girls’ here on Wednesday.

In the girls’ section, Soni Kumari of Jharkhand clinched the honours in the 40m event, while O. Naobi Chanu of Manipur stole the show in the 30m event.

Director-General of Police V. Dinesh Reddy inaugurated the championship.

The results (finals):

Indian round: Boys: 40m: 1. N. Arjun Singh (Man) 338 pts; 2. Vikas (Del); 3. H. Bijendranath Singh (Asm Rifles).

30m: 1. N. Arjun Singh (Man) 335; 2. Choom Tshering Lepcha (Cht); 3. H. Bijendranath Singh.

Girls: 40m: 1. Soni Kumari (Jha) 321; 2. O. Naobi Chanu (Man); 3. Indrani Kujur (Jha).

30m: 1. O. Naobi Chanu 327; 2. Ankita Bhakat (WB); 3. Soni Kumari (Jha).
