India's Dhruv Sitwala went down to Peter Gilchrist of Singapore 1011-1653 in the final of the three-day South Australian invitational billiards championship at Adelaide on Sunday. Sourav Kothari finished sixth out of seven cueists.

The eight-man field was reduced to seven owing to the withdrawal of Glenn Yeo of Singapore. In all-play-all league, Gilchrist won all his six matches to top the group.

Robby Foldvari of Australia finished second with four wins. Sitwala also had four wins out of six to occupy the third place and Steve Mifsud of Australia, who had three victories in six outings, ended fourth.

In the semifinals, Gilchrist outscored Mifsud 740-357 and the Indian repeated the league victory against Foldvari with a narrow 362-329 verdict.

Kothari won only against Frank Humphreys (314-141). The Western Australian eventually finished fifth and Joe Minici of New South Wales was seventh.
