China’s 2008 Olympic champion Lu Yong has won the men’s 85-kilogram division in weightlifting at the Asian Games.

The spike-haired Lu lifted a combined 376 kilograms - 173 in snatch and 203 in clean and jerk - as China raised its gold tally to six in weightlifting at Guangzhou.

Uzbekistan’s Mansurbek Chashemov (372) took silver while South Korea’s Kim Kwang-hoon (369) took bronze. Lu failed in his first snatch attempt at 170 kilograms, but managed to leave behind Chashemov (172) with two successive good lifts.
