Joshna Chinappa’s late charge proved insufficient as she crashed out of the US Open Squash Championship after suffering a straight set first round defeat at the hands of England’s Laura Massaro in New York today.

Chinappa, India’s lone challenge at the prestigious USD 42,450 event, lost 2-11 9-11 15-17 to her fifth seed opponent in 37 minutes at the Heights Casino club.

The US Open is one of the WISPA World Tour Silver events and the Indian ace would now head to other destinations to present her challenge.
