China Open: Four Indian boxers in semifinals

Four boxers have assured themselves of medals by making it to the semifinals of the third China Open boxing tournament at Guiyang.

Former National champion Sunil Kumar (52kg) defeated Artem Mirazaev of Russia in the quarters to reach the last four. Rookie boxers Ajay Kumar (56kg), Jaideep (75kg) and Manjeet Singh (+91kg) also won their respective last eight bouts.

Women boxers Pinki Jangra (51kg), Preeti Beniwal (60kg) and Neetu Chahal (75kg) lost in the quarters.

The event is being conducted as per the new scoring system.
