China completed a clean sweep of table tennis gold medals at the London Olympics by winning the men’s team event on Wednesday.

Ma Long, Zhang Jike and Wang Hao had no problems against South Korea in the gold medal match, dropping just two sets en route to an easy 3-0 victory.

The gold medal took Wang’s medal tally to two gold and three silver, while Jhang won his second gold after earlier picking up the single’s title in London.

South Korea, who won bronze in the team event in Beijing four years ago, were never in with a chance as Ma beat Ryu Seungmin 3-1, Zhang had the better of Joo Saehyuk 3-1 and Wang and Zhang then beat Ryu and Oh Sang-Eun 3-0 in a match that lasted less than two hours.

In the bronze medal match, the German team of Timo Boll, Dimitrij Ovtcharov and Bastian Steger proved too strong for Hong Kong, winning 3-1, with just the doubles pairing of Ovtcharov and Steger losing.

China won all four gold and two silver in London — as good a result as they could have achieved as they had only two entrants in both men’s and women’s singles.
