Usain Bolt isn’t finding his first trip to the “Friendly Games” to be completely friendly.
The Jamaican sprinter was in the headlines on Wednesday for allegedly using an expletive to describe his experience so far at the Commonwealth Games.
The Times of London says it spoke to Bolt as he left the athletes’ village in Glasgow on Tuesday. Bolt, who is only competing in the 4x100 relay, was quoted as saying he was “not really” having fun in Glasgow and the games were (sic) “a bit s***.”
Bolt tweeted on Wednesday that “I’m waking up to this nonsense” and called the report “lies.”
Commonwealth Games Federation chief executive Mike Hooper says “we’re very pleased with how he’s responded.”
The Times story remained unchanged on Wednesday on its website.
Bolt spent Tuesday mixing with Prince William, his wife Kate and Prince Harry.
