Bangalore held top seed and leader Chennai-A to a 2-2 draw in the sixth and penultimate round of the National Cities Team chess championship in Dindigul on Thursday.
Despite the draw, Chennai-A leads with eleven points. Tenali with 10 points, Bangalore and Coimbatore with nine each are beind. Chennai-A takes on Coimbatore in the final round on Friday.
The 2-2 result helped Bangalore stop Chennai-A from winning with a round to spare. This also gave title hopes to Tenali, which scored a 3-1 win over Thanjavur to move to second place on ten points.
