Indian men’s 4x100m medley relay team qualified for the final while their compatriots in three other events failed to make the cut in the swimming competition at the Asian Games here today.

The men’s 4x100m quartet of Rehan Poncha, Sandeep Sejwal, Virdhawal Khade and Aaron D’Souza finished sixth, clocking 3:49.38s, in the heats to qualify for the final which will be held later in the day.

I can confirm that Gagan Narang is the lone Indian in the final of the men's 50 metre Rifle 3-Positions final. He qualified in fourth place.

Lokesh Kumar, Manjeet Singh, Rajesh Kumar and Satish Joshi were the rowers for India in the Lightweight men's Four.

Chhote Lal takes on Satoshi Shimuzu of Japan in men's 56 kg round of 16 bout.

Badminton

Arvind Bhat is already playing in a men's singles round of 16 encounter in badminton.

V. Valiya Veetil and Jwala Gutta take on B. Shin and H. Lee in a mixed doubles round of 16 encounter in a few hours time.

The last match at the Tianhe Gymnasium of the day - where the badminton courts are located - sees Saina Nehwal take on Pui Yin Yip of China (that match should start around 19:30 IST).

Shamini Kumaresan takes on Sayaka Hirano in a women's singles 1/16 round in Table Tennis.
