Ace cueist Aditya Mehta today advanced to the quarter finals of the KENCES—ASCA International Invitation Snooker Championship with a 4—0 thrashing of Divya Sharma here.
Aditya managed to win the first frame on the black with a tricky thin cut. The second frame followed a similar pattern where Aditya broke down on a break of 42 with only the remaining where Sharma missed an opportunity and Mehta potted the rest for a 2—0 lead.
Making a 70 break to win the third and then breaks of 58 and 66 in the fourth frame to seal the match at 4—0.
In another pre—quarterfinal match, Sourav Kothari upset top seed and compatriot Rafath Habib, the former Asian Games gold medalist, by four frames to two in the best—of—seven frames.
Laxman Rawat also made it to the last eight stage by blanking Shabaaz Khan by four frames to nil.
