Little-known recurve archer, Priyank Tyagi, returns to action with the Indian team for the World Cup Stage 4, to be held at Wroclaw in Poland from August 20. The 27-year-old former Gurukul Prabhat Ashram product last played for India in a World Cup at Boe in France in 2008.

Priyank, a deceptive and reliable shooter, was to travel to Medellin in Colombia with the men’s recurve team for the World Cup Stage 3 meet but owing to passport issues he failed to make it.

Manjudha Soy, who is fast turning out to be Indian women compound team’s main stay, does not figure in the confirmed list for the Wroclaw WC. The team will have only three as the Archery Association of India (AAI) did not name a replacement for Manjudha.

The squad: Men’s recurve: Atanu Das, Priyank Tyagi, Tarundeep Rai and Jayanta Talukdar. Women: Dola Banerjee, Rimil Buriuly, Deepika Kumari and L. Bombayla Devi. Men’s compound: Rajat Chauhan, Kh. Ratan Singh, Sandeep Kumar and Abhishek Verma. Women: Trisha Deb, P. Lily Chanu and V. Jyothi Surekha. Coaches: Chea Woong Lim, Sushma Nandal, W. Rajan Singh and Jiwajot Singh.
