Aravindh Chithambaram wins Chennai Open in style

Fourteen-year-old Aravindh Chithambaram finished off his sensational run in style, winning the Chennai Open International Grandmaster tournament at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here on Saturday.

He finished with nine points from 11 rounds, half-a-point more than Valeriy Neverov of Ukraine and S.P. Sethuraman, who finished second and third respectively.

Lalith Babu 7 lost to Vladislav Borovikov (Ukr) 8; Vasily Papin (Ukr) 7 drew with Samvel Ter-Sahakyan (Arm) 7; Swapnil Dhopade 7 drew with M. Shyam Sundar 7; Bahruz Rzayev (Aze) 7 drew with Azer Mirzoev (Aze) 7; Levon Babujian (Arm) 7.5 bt Aditya Udeshi 6.5; Jacek Stopa (Pol) 6.5 drew with Siddharth Ravichandran 7; Nino Batsiashvili (Geo) 6.5 drew with Ivan Popov (Rus) 6.5.
