AP in all four finals

Host Andhra Pradesh made it to all four finals of the 68th South Zone inter-State badminton championship at the DSA indoor stadium here on Monday.

AP men blanked Kerala 3-0, with K. Srikanth giving his team a flying start, beating Arun George 21-7, 21-19 in 30 minutes.

In the second singles, Rahul Yadav made a brilliant comeback to beat the mercurial Aneesh 21-15, 17-21, 22-20.

Rahul, who was down 17-20 in the decider, went on to save three match points to prevail 22-20 in a 56-minute thriller.

In the first doubles, Srikanth, partnering Arjun Reddy, overcame Bennett Antony and Suraj 15-21, 21-16, 21-10.

Women: AP bt Karnataka 2-0 (G. Ruthvika Shivani bt Jacqueline Kunnath 21-11, 21-16; J. Meghana & K. Maneesha bt Nischitha & Varsha Belwadi 21-15, 21-15).

Kerala bt Puducherry 2-0 (A. Sara Sunil bt M. Aruna 21-15, 21-12; Sara & Megha Ninan bt M. Aruna & R. Priyadarshini 21-16, 21-15).

Boys: Kerala bt TN 2-0 (Arun George bt Vembarasan 21-17, 21-19; Arjun George & Pranav bt Vembarasan & Ashok Kumar 22-20, 21-18).
