Two years after taking his maiden trophy, Southern Railway’s Anoop Raju won the men’s 60kg title in the sixth RMCO National senior bodybuilding championship at the Bolghatty Palace here on Sunday.

The 33-year-old from Pala, a senior ticket examiner in Ernakulam who was competing in his fifth National, was a confident man as he went through the compulsory routine.

“I knew I would get it because this is happening at home, in front of my people,” said Anoop who runs his own gym at Kaduthuruthy. “Now, I’m looking forward to the World Championship which will also be held here next year.”

Meanwhile, another Railway man Rahul Salunkhe walked away with the 55kg trophy with host Kerala’s R.K. Suraj and K. Arif taking the silver and bronze.
