Air Force lifts trophy

Narender Grewal scored 29 points in the last league match to help Air Force (New Delhi) defeat Indian Navy (Lonavala) 87-72 in 58th all-India flood-lit basketball tournament for the P.D. Chidambara Sourya Naraynan Memorial Trophy on Sunday. The teams were locked 35-35 at half-time.

With this win Air Force lifted the trophy on points difference after a three way tie with Indian Navy and ASC, Bengaluru. All the three teams had two wins and one loss.

Air Force became winner with a point difference of +11 points, while Indian Navy finished runner-up with +2 points and ASC took the third place (-13 points).

Indian Navy 66 (Lalit 15, Mahioal 12) bt DLW 60 (Vivek 21, Krishnan 11, Rakesh Yadav 10); ASC 85 (Issac 27, Balwan 17, Saif Hasmi 17) bt Air Force 81 (Narender Grewal 24, Nikhil 16, Joginder Singh 13, Ashutosh Rai 11) (in extra time, FT: 74-74); ASC 69 (Issac 21, Saif 18, Balwan 13) bt DLW 60 (Rakesh Yadav 20, Akash Bashin 13, Vivek 12); Air Force 87 (Narender Grewal 29, Nikhil 17, Hemmat 16, Joginder Singh 10) bt Indian Navy 72 (Amal 30, Akilesh 12).
