Viswanathan Anand has picked him as a player to watch out for in Indian chess. B. Adhiban, the former World under-16 champion, has indeed been making some noticeable moves.
Over the next three weeks though, he would be closely following the moves his idol makes at the ballroom of Hyatt Regency.
The Chennai lad is expecting Anand to triumph yet again at the World championship. “I know most of the experts from Europe are saying Carlsen is a huge favourite, but I believe Anand has better chances,” he said.
“Anand is remarkably good in this format of the World championship. But it won’t be easy for him against Carlsen, who really looks very relaxed.
Adhiban said too much had been made of the differences in age between Anand and Carlsen. “That is not going to matter much here, I feel,” he said.
“So what if Anand is older than Carlsen? With age comes wisdom.”
