Cueist extraordinaire Pankaj Advani defended his crown with a 6-1 demolition of compatriot B. Bhaskar in the final of the 17th Asian billiards championship here on Saturday.

Advani, who started on the wrong foot by losing the first frame 100-24, then made the baize all his own as he bounced back with a 102-6 score in the second before winning the next five 101-59, 100-0, 101-0, 102-40 and 101-51 to keep the title.

Meanwhile in the ladies snooker event, Amee Kamani beat Siripaporn Nuanthakhamjan of Thailand in straight frames 49-11, 83-46, 72-24 to claim the top honours.
