Pankaj Advani advanced into the round of 16 in both the timed and points format of the World Billiards Championship being held at Leeds, England.

Advani scored convincing wins against England’s Phil Davis (3-0 in a best-of-five-frames match) and India’s Venkateswaran Subramanian (4-0 in a best-of-seven-frames) on Wednesday to progress to the pre-quarterfinals in the points format.

Carrying his good form into the timed format, the cueist put it across Eva Palius of England 1016-4 with four century breaks, and then defeated Phil Davis once again in the knockout rounds 1063-199.
