2020 Summer Olympics: IOC team in Madrid to assess infrastructure

The International Olympic Council (IOC) evaluation commission has begun a four-day inspection of Madrid’s bid for the 2020 Summer Games.

IOC officials arrived here on Monday for the inspection. Madrid is competing with Tokyo and Istanbul, wherein the IOC’s scheduled voting for selecting the host city to be held on September 7.

The IOC inspection team has already visited Tokyo and is expected to travel to Istanbul next week.
