17 swimmers for AASF championship

Seventeen swimmers, including five girls, were selected to represent the country in the AASF Age-group swimming championship to be held in Indonesia from October 5 to 13.

According to the Swimming Federation of India (SFI) Secretary-General, Kamlesh Nanavati, some more names could be added to the list following another round of trials during the National camp in Bangalore.

Names of three divers and probables for the water polo boys' and girls' teams, were also announced on Tuesday.

The teams:

Swimming: Boys: Saurabh Sangvekar (Mah), Jaywant Vijay Kumar (TN), A. Ajay (Kar), Sanu Debnath (Ben), Sujay Shah (Guj), Himanshu Dhakad (MP), A. P. Gagan (Kar), Veer Dhaval Khade (Mah), Aaron Agnel D'Souza (Kar), Anshul Kothari (Guj), Rehan Poncha (Kar) and Sandeep Sejwal (Rlys). Girls: Talasha Prabhu (Goa), Richa Mishra (Pet), Kshipra Mahajan (Kar), Surabhi Tipre (Kar) and Arti Ghorpade (Mah).

Diving: Boys: T. Hariprasad (Rlys) and K. Ramanand (Ser). Girls: Hrutika Shriram (Rlys).

Water polo: Boys: Rahul Hatwar, Ashwin Kumar Kunde, Uday Uttekar, Nikhil Shinde, Yogesh Kunthe and Shreyas Vaidya (all Maharashtra), Milan Poddar, Savankar Mondal, Pintu Naiya, Chandan Sarkar, Kunal Bhaiya (all Bengal), Al Siraj, B. S. Rohit, Aneesh Babu (all Kerala), Prasidh P. Kumar, Vishal Ajjampur (both Karnataka), Gagandeep Singh and Adhiraj Singh (both Punjab). Girls: V. Vismaya, M. R. Nithya, A. A. Areha, V. Divya, J. Shreekutty, S. Al Janah (all Kerala), Sonali Ghangade, Vaishnavi Shriwas, Komal Kirve, Priyanka Thakkar, Mansi Gowde, Pratiksha Tayde (all Maharashtra), Uttara Kothari, V. Mrudula, Shama Holla (all Karnataka), Sumitra Kajur, Moushmi and Sudeshna Paul (all Bengal).
