St. Joseph’s College of Engineering emerged the overall champion for the 12 time in a row in the Tamil Nadu Inter Engineering Sports (TIES) 2014, which concluded at the Kongu Engineering College. Over 500 institutions took part in the competitions.

St. Joseph’s garnered 88 points (46 for men and 42 for women).

It secured championships in table tennis, ball badminton, finished second in tennis and volleyball and got the third places in kabaddi and chess for men.

In the women’s section, St. Joseph’s won in table tennis, and came second in chess, volleyball and kabaddi and third in tennis and basketball.

St. Joseph’s won the team championships in athletics and shared the top place with St. Joseph’s Institute of Technology.

The medallists were felicitated by Dr. Babu Manoharan, Managing Director, St.Joseph’s College of Engineering, on Thursday.
