Shooter Jasna Sekaric is the only athlete, male or female, to have competed under four different flags at the Olympic Games.
First, she competed for Yugoslavia in Seoul 1988, winning gold in the women’s 10m air rifle.
Four years later, she competed under the Olympic flag in Barcelona 1992, winning the silver medal.
In Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004, she represented Serbia and Montenegro and then in Beijing 2008 and London 2012, Sekaric represented Serbia following Montenegro gaining Independence.
The only female participant not to have to submit to a sex test in Montreal 1976 was Princess Anne of Great Britain, who was a member of the British equestrian team.
Being the daughter of Queen Elizabeth II, she was exempted as the IOC resolved that subjecting the Princess to such a test would be inappropriate.
In Beijing 2008, U.S. athlete Sheila Taormina competed in the modern pentathlon, making her the first woman to qualify for the Games in three different sports disciplines — swimming, triathlon and modern pentathlon.
