Takale, Sheriff duo takes honours

Sanjay Takale, driving for Isuzu D-Max team and with Musa Sheriff as co-driver, became the first Indian to win a FIA-certified Asia Cross Country Rally 2011. Driving at the 2011 Asia Cross Country rally, from Pattaya in Thailand to Angkor Wat in Cambodia, the Pune rally driver proved his credentials, finishing first in T20 class and sixth overall.

According to a statement from the Federation of Motor Sports Club of India (FMSCI) “Sanjay Takle and Musa Sherif finished the T2 Class in first position at the Asia Cross Country Rally. It is a 2000-km off-road cross- country rally.”

The Indian duo overcame a turbo problem and beat the Japanese team of Show Aikawa and Fumio Nutahara in Toyota FJ Cruiser.
