Sebastian Vettel led the way on Saturday as the Red Bull Formula One team completed its domination of British Grand Prix practice.

The German Vettel clocked 1 minute 30.958 minutes for the 5.891-kilometres lap as he finished ahead of team-mate Mark Webber and Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso of Spain.

However, Vettel had to limp home to the pits at the end of the 90-minute session as the nose of his car got loose. Vettel had topped the first practice session on Friday and Webber the second on the same day.

Qualifying was scheduled for later Saturday and the race is Sunday.

McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton leads an eventful season with 127 points into the 10th of 19 races. Team-mate and title holder Jenson Button has 121, Vettel 115, Webber 103 and Alonso 98.
