Indian racing driver Parth Ghorpade on Tuesday confirmed his participation in the 2012 season of the Formula Pilota Championship (Formula Abarth Asia), scheduled to begin in China later this year.

The 18-year-old will be one of 20 European and Asian racers in the championship, with the winner to be awarded a four-day test at Formula One Scuderia Ferrari Academy.

Parth, a five-time National karting champion, will turn out for Eurasia Motorsport.

The Formula Pilota Championship, now in its second season, comprises 18 races across six events in China and Malaysia and will commence at the Shanghai International Circuit on June 17.

The single-make championship will feature the Tatuus Formula Abarth FA010 car.
