Gaurav Gill (co-driver Musa Sherif) and defending National champion Amittrajit Ghosh (Ashwin Naik) will be keen to battle it out to the very end when the Rally of Coimbatore, the second round of the FMSCI Indian Rally Championship, begins at the windmill stages near Kethanur here on Saturday.

The drivers did the recce on Friday and found the stages to their liking.

“The first stage (LMW – 26.10kms) is pretty wide and smooth. Obviously, it’s going to be a lot faster than last year. I must say it is the drivers’ stage because it will entertain speed,” said Gill, who won the opening round in a Mahindra XUV500 at Nashik.

“I love high speed so you can expect lots of action from me and the other drivers as well.” Ghosh said: “The stages are much better than last year. But, the first is pretty important. I am going to drive to my best and go hard from the start.”
