Feeling yet to sink in: Chandhok

April 11, 2010 01:12 am | Updated 01:12 am IST - CHENNAI:

Formula 1 driver Karun Chandhok on Saturday engaged in an informal interaction with his hometown fans in an event organised by Chennai Live 104.8 FM.

The 26-year-old Hispania Racing driver, who finished 15th in the recent Malaysian Grand Prix, said his entry into car racing's premier competition hadn't sunk in just as yet.

“This is something I wanted since I was a child, and it still hasn't sunk in. The season is just three races down and I have a long way to go from here. Let's see how we do in the remaining contests.”

Chandhok also said that despite the glamour one usually associated with Formula 1, he was not the archetypal late-night reveller.

“Even now, it's way past my bedtime. I just live for my job and, thankfully, I am in love with my job,” he said.
