Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone has been attacked and robbed in London, police confirmed on Friday.

The octogenarian was attacked outside his company headquarters in Knightsbridge late Wednesday by four robbers who stole watches and jewellery valued at 240,000 euros (320,000 dollars) from Ecclestone and his partner Fabiano Flosi.

Ecclestone was repeatedly beaten and kicked by the attackers and had to be treated in hospital for light head injuries.
