On another cool winter day, Anindith Reddy scorched the Buddh International Circuit.
The reigning champion from Hyderabad continued from where he left off on Saturday and won both the races on the final day of the 20th JK Tyre FMSCI National racing championship.
Cheered on by a huge holiday crowd, Anindith shrugged off competition from his closest rivals, Nayan Chatterjee and Vishnu Prasad, to win his second Euro JK title in as many years. He finished with 136 overall points, ahead of Vishnu (109) and Nayan (101).
Meanwhile, seasoned biker and nine-time National champion Rajini Krishnan alleged on his Facebook page that he was not able to participate in the 1000cc super bike competition because someone had poured water into his bike’s petrol tank.
“My engine was destroyed,” he said. “I was disappointed that I could not compete after being in pole position in qualifying.”
About the issue, JK Motorsports president Sanjay Sharma said the bike was not in parc ferme when the incident allegedly took place. It was the competitor’s responsibility to take care of the bike until it reached parc ferme , he added.
