MCC ‘A’ won the basketball title at the 80th Bertram Memorial Tournament after it beat Loyola Whites 63-58 in a thrilling final here.
The Whites started the match strongly to lead 22-12 at the end of the first quarter.
However, thanks to a match-high 20 points by Kasi, MCC ‘A’ led a strong recovery and found itself only two points behind the Whites at half-time.
The momentum of the match had swung decisively and MCC ‘A’ held off a late charge from the host to clinch victory.
In the third place play-off earlier in the day, Jeppiaar IT overcame Loyola Yellows 54-31 in a lop-sided encounter. — Sports Reporter
