Kallis happy with his knock

March 17, 2010 12:42 am | Updated 12:42 am IST - Bangalore:

“I am happy that the rub of the green went our way in this match. My role is to bat through the innings and I am happy that I did that.

“We did not have any specific targets while chasing,” added Jacques Kallis after scoring a match-winning unbeaten 89 for Royal Challengers Bangalore on Tuesday.

Robin Uthappa, who played his part to perfection with a rapid-fire 51, said that he was glad to get an opportunity to bat up the order.

“I like batting upfront as it gives me time to get my eye in and play my shots. I could do that well today and the plan was for Kallis to bat through.

“Things are finally falling in place and I am happy with the way I batted,” said Uthappa.

Outplayed

King's XI Punjab skipper Kumar Sangakkara said that his team was not comprehensively outplayed.

“We scored 200 plus and it was a good score so we cannot say that we were outplayed. They batted well,” said Sangakkara.
