Aditya Maan (66kg) and Ashish (63kg) have reached the quarterfinals of the AIBA World junior boxing championships in Kiev, Ukraine.

Maan defeated Hungarian boxer Laszlo Kozak in a close contest before registering a comprehensive victory over Javier Estrada from the USA to make it to the last eight.

Maan, a bronze medallist in the Junior Continental championships earlier this year, will take on Cassio Olivera Santos from Brazil in the next round.

Ashish, who got a first round bye, outclassed Marcel Rumpler from Austria when referee stopped contest.

In the pre-quarterfinals, the 15-year-old comprehensively beat Jegors Artjomovs of Latvia to get a unanimous decision in his favour. Ashish will meet Shabbos Negmatulloev of Tajikistan in the quarterfinals.

Vishnu Chahal crashed out in the 57kg pre-quarterfinals.

The reigning Asian champion in 60kg, Prayag Chauhan, lost his opening round bout to Muzaffar Rashidov from Uzbekistan.
