J&K govt allocates funds for sports infrastructure development

The Jammu and Kashmir Government has allocated Rs 17.40 crore to 87 constituencies of the state for upgradation of sports infrastructure and provide incentives to various athletes.

“An amount of Rs 20 lakh has been provided to every constituency of the state for upgradation of the sports infrastructure and also provide incentives to various sports persons,” Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ali Mohammad Sagar said speaking at a function here.

“It is an endeavour of the government to provide quality infrastructure to the sportspersons so that they excel in their respective fields and also compete nationally as well as globally and bring laurels to the state.”

While assuring help to young and aspiring sportspersons, Sagar said government is fully aware of the potential of the youth and every effort would be done to channelise the same in a proper way so that they contribute their bit in making the state an abode of peace and prosperity.
