While star singer Jennifer Lopez has contributed to the official World Cup song, she will not be a keen follower of the action on the pitch in Brazil.

“My schedule is really full right now,” the 44-year-old said.

“But I have some cousins who are fanatical Real Madrid supporters.

They are not fans, they are fanatics. So I will certainly be kept up to date with everything that happens.” Lopez combined with US rapper Pitbull and Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte to record the official FIFA song ‘We Are One’ for the tournament.

However, while Pitbull and Leitte will perform at the opening ceremony in Sao Paulo on Thursday, Lopez will not. She surprisingly withdrew from the event, citing “production reasons.”
