IT prevails over Kerala Police

Saravanan and Vikram were the architects of Income Tax RC’s 15-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-15 win over Kerala Police in the SAIL-Panimalar all-India P. John Memorial volleyball tournament, organised by Nellai Friends Volleyball Club, on Wednesday. Ratish shone for the Police team.

In another match, Tamil Nadu Police defeated Panimalar 25-24, 25-16, 25-9. Rajasekhar and Dhanasekar were outstanding for the winner.

In the women’s section, Central Railway encountered stiff resistance from Dr. Sivanthi Club before winning 24-26, 25-13, 25-15, 26-24, while KSEB was taken the distance by Southern Railway. KSEB won 25-23, 25-18, 13-25, 27-29, 15-8.

Shyam Sundar shines

Shyam Sundar’s 156 led St. Patricks to a 157-run win over Chettinad Hari Shree Vidyalaya in the SMCA under-12 schools cricket tournament.

The scores: Vidhya Mandir (Mylapore) 163 in 24.1 overs (P. Vidyuth 57, Ayub Syed three for 23) bt DAV (Gopalapuram) 120 for six in 25 overs (Sai Sudharsan 55, Preetham Sai 26).

St. Patrick’s 247 for one in 25 overs (Shyam Sundar 156, Sachin Shrinivas 66) bt Chettinad Hari Shree Vidyalaya 90 for seven in 25 overs (Matheswaran 26); Sankara SSS 257 for five in 25 overs (A.S. Lathika advances

Lathika Premkumar swept past Preethi Babu 6-0, 6-0 to progress to the girls’ quarterfinals at the T. B. Balagopal Memorial junior State-ranking tennis championship held here.

Srinivasan and Swaminathan win

The pair of G. Srinivasan and K. S. Swaminathan won the TNSC weekly bridge tournament in the East-West direction with a score of 66.15 IMPs. In the North-South direction, M. Sridhar and T. Subramanian came first with 63.76 IMPs.

Sports Olympiad

The INNO Geo City Sports Olympiad is set to take off from July 28. The event, spread over two months and powered by Nokia Lumia, will include cricket, football, volleyball, swimming, and tennis, etc.

Hockey tournaments
