Holding court: The Wimbledon curtain raiser


The Wimbledon championship, which gave the game its original name — lawn tennis, commenced on Monday. The All England Club will see the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, and Victoria Azarenka battle it out to claim the hallowed 137-year-old grass turf in London.
