Host Uttar Pradesh, last year’s runner-up Odisha, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy (MPHA) and Himachal Pradesh recorded convincing wins to advance to the quarterfinals of the National junior hockey championship at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium here on Monday.

The results: Pool B: Odisha 13 (Rajin 5, Amonmirash 2, Saroj, Alok, Amit, Joseph, Bikas, Alsem) bt Tripura 0.

Pool D: Uttar Pradesh 6 (Raju Pal 3, Imran Khan 2, own goal) bt Jharkhand 0.

Pool F: MPHA 16 (Nikki Kaushal 3, Armaan Gurishy 3, Sarfaraz Khan 3, M. Nizamuddin 2, Rana Pratap 2, Shakir Hussain 2, Abhay Yadav) bt Goa 0.

Pool H: Himachal Pradesh 11 (Karambir 3, Taran Deep Singh 3, Ajeet Pandit 2, Gaganpreet 2, Sukhdev Singh) bt Puducherry 0; Bihar 6 (Rahul Kumar 2, Bikash Singh, Roshan Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Manish Kashyap) bt Rajasthan 1 (Suraj Chauhan).
